cablehat: Cabled Hat
This is a great introduction to cables. Just making a hat is a wonderful way to learn to work with two circular needles, and this hat also has cables that are really quite easy to make. The pattern is free on Ravelry (Jason's Cashmere Hat).

This is really an advanced beginner or intermediate class. You must be able to knit and purl.
Requirements:
Depending upon the yarn you select and your knitting tension, you should bring 16 inch needles in a size 6, 7 and 8 and we will collaborate to see which will be best. Of course your yarn and stitch definition will determine needle size. When working with a pattern it is usually best to try a solid color so that you can see the pattern as you create it. Also you will need scissors, a tape measure and a cable needle.
