finish: Finishing
The little sachet bags are only small because we want to be able to finish everything in one class. You can make the knitted pattern below or just keep your little bag plain.. You will be working from the top down. This is homework for the first class.
Cast on 51 stitches
Work stockinette stitch for ten rows. (Knit one row, purl one row)
On row 10: Knit 2, (yo, k2tog, k3) repeat until four stitches remain, yo, k2tog, k2.
continue in stockinette stitch for nine rows, then you may wish to start a pattern on the right side. The following pattern might be fun or you can just add stripes or any pattern that suits you. ( SKP means to slip, knit, pass slip stitch over)
Row 1 Knit 2, *K2, (yo, SKP) 4 times, k2, rep from * to last stitch, k1
Row 2, and all wrong side rows, Purl
Row 3, Knit 2, *K3, (yo, SKP) 3 times, k3: rep from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 5 Knit 2, *k4, (yo, SKP) twice, k4, rep from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 7 Knit 2, K5, yo SKP, k5 to last stitch, k1
Row 9 Knit 2, *(yo, SKP) twice, k4, (yo SKP) twice, rep from * to last stitch, k1.
Row 11 Knit 2, *SKP, yo, SKP, k6, yo, SKP, yo, rep from * to last stitch, k1
Row 13 Knit 2 * YO, SKP, K8, yo, SKP, rep from * to last stitch,, k1
Row 15 Knit 2 *SKP, k10, yo, rep from * to last stitch, k1
Continue in stockinette stitch for another ten rows or so decreasing one stitch on the last purl row. You are now prepared for the class.

You should be able to knit and purl. This is not a difficult class and it will give your knitting a happy feeling. It is easier to work with light colored yarns.
If you would like, bring along a project you are currently working on. It would be fun to see what knitters are knitting.
Requirements:
You will need to bring your sample to class. Do not take your sample off the needles or bind off. Also, you will need a blunt needle, scissors, double pointed needles, extra yarn in a contrasting color and a crochet hook that will fit your yarn . Please bring scrap yarn from your old projects.
